I’m Dan Smith, and I’m currently living two lives. Maybe even three if you really look into it. Haley, Allison, Hunter, Wade, Sergio, and Isla all exist in one or more of them somehow.
Am I a supporting role in their stories, or are they merely characters in mine? You decide.
Haley told her story. Now I’ll tell mine.
She said. He said.
This is my story.
Warning Some explicit language and sexual content.
Note This is a full length novel at ~75,700 words. It is slightly longer than A is for Alpha Male.

3-3.5 starsTBH, I had a bit of a hard time with this one and I'm not positive if it was the book or my fault. I started reading this while I was on vacation and I'll admit that I was a bit distracted. However, I've been distracted with other books in the past and they've sucked me in once I started reading so I'm really not sure if it was just my mood or if I wouldn't have gotten pulled in by this story no matter when I read it.
This story is basically the same one from the first book, A is for Alpha Male except instead of being told from Haley's PoV, it's told from Dan's PoV. I read book #1 back in 2013 and I remember the story so I was able to fill in some holes in this story but I don't think this would be a good standalone book...I think people should read book #1 before reading this one. Who knows, maybe if I had read book #1 over again before reading Secret Alpha I would have gotten more into it.
I liked Dan and Haley and their interactions are great but it seemed like some of their interactions that were fully detailed in the previous book were cut short (or not as detailed) in this book. We get a good amount of info about Dan's undercover work while Haley isn't around and it's interesting but I liked it better when Haley was in the picture. Overall, I liked the characters very much but the story was just alright for me. If someone were going to read this, I'd recommend reading it right after A is for Alpha Male as I think it would work better that way.

Secret Alpha A is for Alpha Male Book 2 edition by Laurel Curtis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I loved this one just as much as her side...it also helped fill in some of the questions from her story. This a must read to get the full effect of their story another hit.....
A previous review nailed it on the head. I don't normally read different-angle stories, but this was entertaining from the here's side. I did skip a lot of it, because it was repetitive. But it was nice to see the FBI side of the story.
To the author the language of Filipinos is "Tagalog". One does not speak "Filipino".
This was the perfect viewpoint coming from Dan. I like the stories when I get her side and his side. It helps fill in so many blanks. This one did for sure. Getting to find out more of his history and why he suddenly left or hung up explained so much. Just like the first book I had trouble putting it down. This is a definite must read!
Loved reading from Dan's POV. What a great way to get us ready for Allison's story. Really want that story so or if I'm telling the truth any book from this amazing author. I usually don't care for a sequel just showing a different POV but this is one big exception. Read anything you can get your hands on by this author especially if you love Kristen Ashley
I received an ARC of "Secret Alpha" from Laurel and I was on cloud 9! I loved Dan-O and Hales in the first book but after reading Danny's POV...Love just doesn't seem like a strong enough word!! I was on a major high when I finished it at 130 in the morning and had to message Laurel ASAP, even if it was late! I had a hard time going to sleep! Couldn't get Danny out of my head!! BUY THIS BOOK NOW!! You don't wanna miss a second of Danny's ooey gooey yummyness!!
Okay so I thoroughly enjoyed A is for Alpha Male and I'm normally very hesitant to read the male POV since it always seems to be just a rehash of the first book with a few changes. I was pleasantly surprised how the author made the male POV a story of his own! I loved Dan's POV! Dan had a lot more going on that we knew when he met Haley and we get to see what it is even as he fights against falling and falls for Haley at the same time. Dan is extremely likable and I can't help but root for him and Haley. An enjoyable story that you shouldn't hesitate to pick up if you've read A is for Alpha Male!
Haley Whitfield is one of my absolute favorite heroines, and A is for Alpha Male sits on my all-time favorite list. When I heard that the author was going write a book from Danny’s point of view, my first thought was “sign me up baby”! I knew that watching him experience Haley’s personal brand of crazy while falling hard for her was going to be just as much fun as experiencing it from Haley’s POV, and Ms. Curtis did not prove me wrong! We get the added bonus of all new story pieces filling in the blanks regarding what was happening in Danny’s life before he met the Whitfields, during their initial time together and while Haley and Allison went on their road trip.
I adore Haley’s outgoing personality and crazy antics, and it was such fun to revisit her banter with Allison and Danny. Seeing Danny’s interactions with Wade, the only family that he has, was definitely a bright spot as well- I am seriously hoping to see him get his own story at some point. His love for Danny is obvious in this book, and you can just tell that he has a lot to say with a painful back story hidden just out of sight. As you experience their lives through Danny’s eyes, you realize that Danny survived his childhood, but he never really kept living after Wade took him- until Haley turned his world upside down as she simultaneously frustrated the hell out of him and captivated him.
In Secret Alpha, we get a little action and adventure, a little suspense, a lot of goofy fun and a whole lot of smiles. The author managed to surprise me with a few twists that she threw into the story, and that was definitely an unexpected albeit pleasant occurrence! If there was one thing that would end up on my wish list for this book, it would be more interaction between Danny and Hunter toward the end. Their reunion was a little different than I had set it up in mind and that was one of the fun twists for me. But it just felt a little anti-climactic when they did finally get to talk.
Suffice it to say, if you have read A is for Alpha Male, there is still much more to be experienced in Secret Alpha that is not just a re-telling of book 1. Go grab yourself a copy, sit back and enjoy the ride- it is so worth it!
